Spring Training is almost over!!

Here is a picture of John Lannan warming up before a game. i think we have a much better team this year and that it is crazy what the Washington Post predicted for us this year. In the paper our predicted finish was 59-102 and in last place. That is bazaar and we need more positivity than that. My prediction is 500 (81-81) and if we are that good or better we might have a place in the play-offs!! One of the things I saw in spring training that made me feel good about the team was an excellent pickle or run-down between second and third. i think Jesus Flores and Nick Johnson have recovered pretty well so we have gotten some of our strength back. But there are still two things that concern me. Not having Dmitri Young and him still having such back problems and the bullpen. The reason the bullpen is concerning is when I talked to Mr. Acta he said it was an area of concern but he is usually pretty positive about everything. But we have made some pretty big changes since I talked to him so I don't think there is much to worry about anymore.

Here I am with future pitching star Jack McGeary. I went and saw a few of the minor league games because we didn't have enough time to drive to Jupiter, Florida and see the game. I saw Joe Biemal and Jack McGeary as you see in this picture. Our minor leagers look pretty good.

Next time I write I will put up my interview with Mr.Acta.

Spring Training view

hello,

I am in my hotel room at Cocoa Beach. I just watched a devastating loss by the Nats. We lost in the bottom of the ninth inning. I had a great time. I got lots of autographs and two interviews. One interview was with Mr. Acta and one was with Willie Harris. I will put them on the blog when I have time to write more. Attached is a picture of today's game. It is a view from my seat of Ryan Zimmerman up to bat.

Lots of stuff to talk about!

First of all Chad Cordero is no longer a nat! Now I am assuming Joel Hanrahan will be our closer! So now the Mariners have the Chief!

I also wanted to talk about the WBC. First the DR lost to the Nederlands 2 times so the DR has pretty much lost their chance. Second the U.S. will be playing Puerto Rico. This means Adam Dunn and Joel Hanrahan, current Nationals will be playing against former National, Felipe Lopez.

I will be taking a trip down to Florida for Sprig training next Friday and promise pictures! I might not write between next Friday and two Tuesdays from now (Friday the 20th-24th) but I will have a long post with at least 3 pictures.

Thanks for reading.

Wow!! What a Big Weekend!

We had a very exciting, eventful weekend. First, Jim Bowden has resigned and said that he was a distraction for the team. He is still being investigated by the F.B.I..

The next thing I want to talk about is Screech's new look. He has changed his look very much and I hope to have a picture soon. He looks much older. He is much taller and much skinnier.

Another thing is Nick Johnson hit a home run. This is great considering he has missed two seasons and just recovered from breaking his wrist.

The last thing is Adam Dunn and Joel Hanrahan are playing in the world baseball classic. This is really good because well, it means they are really good players. The only down side is they will miss practice for a few weeks. I think it is good for Joel Hanrahan to be closing for a really big game that is being nationally televised. This is good because he will be under lots, and lots of pressure which can get him ready for the season and be much less nervous at times.

We Win and Screech is Getting a Makeover

Today we had our first win of the spring training season. Today we had a pretty good game and won with a score of 2 to 1. We played the Tigers at home, Space Coast stadium. Two starting pitchers pitched, Collin Ballester started and Jordan Zimmerman (also a starting pitcher) relieved him. So far we have had four starting pitchers pitch eight innings. They have had no runs, one walk, and no hits whatsoever.

Another thing that I wanted talk about about is that Screech is getting a makeover. I personally don't think that this is a good idea given what crisis we are in. What I mean by that is our general manager, Jim Bowden is under F.B.I. investigation. Another thing is that one of our players that we payed what was our record high of 1.4 million (in 2005 was record high) was found out to be not who he said he was.

Tomorrow we are playing the Astros in Viera. Shaun Hill is starting. Good luck Shaun!!

The First Game (Practice that is)

I am so glad to be able to write on this two times in a row. I am trying to write 2-3 days a week on the blog.

As I said yesterday, our first spring training game was today!! Sadly we lost but John Lannan had a very successful two-inning start. Rookie Shairon Martis also had two pretty good innings with only one hit. But after those two we didn't do as good. We lost 6-3 in the end. We used some good pitchers but we probably lost because we didn't use our best players- Adam Dunn,Ryan Zimmerman, Christian Guzman. But tomorrow should be better because we will be using our normal starting lineup in Viera against the Detroit Tigers.

Remember to PLEASE go to the website and donate to Mr. Acta's organization at www.inpactakids.org .

Thanks

Woo Hoo the Boys are back!!!!

I am back after a long winter. I will try my very hardest to post an article at least three days a week. I am very sorry that I have not written in so long.

The first spring training game is tomorrow and I will try to post an article about it a.s.a.p. I will be making a trip to spring training on March 20th, and I hope to write a pretty long article about how they are looking for the season and some of what Mr. Acta says when I interview him. I will also have many pictures to post.

Anyways, enough talk about the future lets talk about what they are looking like and how they are doing now.

As I said earlier, the first spring training game is tomorrow. As you probably know, a couple weeks ago, we drafted a power hitting first baseman, Adam Dunn who previously played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and before that the Reds like Austin Kearns and Jim Bowden. This year he was a free-agent. But speaking of Jim Bowden, he is on the hot-seat and I would not be surprised if he was let go this weekend. The FBI is investigating him. He is in trouble because of the way people think he may have been treating prospects from the Dominican Republic.

A Bad thing about signing Adam Dunn is that Dmitri is looking great and Nick says he feels good. On the bright side though, Adam said that he could play left field as well.

When I go to spring training I am excited to see if Dmitri really looks as good as they said he does. I read another blog called nats 320 which is also really good, and there was a picture of him and he looked skinny. Now this was in a picture and everybody looks bigger in pictures so that is a very good sign. But I do understand why Dmitri was having such problems with his weight, he has bad Diabetes and it got really bad when he kept gaining weight. This was a problem for him when trying to lose weight because his blood sugar would suddenly drop really low and he would have to stop working out.

A game wrap up coming tomorrow.

Thanks so much for reading!!

Bye for now!
